New FMLA process deployed in 2 weeks
A large, non-governmental, private healthcare system that supports 90 facilities, 800 doctors and over 5000 employees identified 52 processes across 13 hospitals that needed process improvement. They had estimated that the inefficiencies in these processes could be costing them hundreds of millions a year especially in billing collections and denials.
(+) Business Need
They needed a BPM System (BPMS) automation platform to support their process improvement requirements and allow them to achieve real results from their Six Sigma initiatives. The CIO required that any software under consideration be tested in a production-like environment for 90–120 days. For BPM, this meant that a process application had to be built to production level requirements and provided to them for an extended evaluation period. An understaffed I/T department and a Data Center at maximum capacity led them to require a remotely hosted (Cloud), HIPAA compliant solution. At the time, IBM was not capable of providing this.
